Welcome to Kallas SkärGård, farm restaurant and garden café. Here you will enjoy good food and drink, or a coffee and homebaked pastry in a genuine, peaceful farm environment.
Food and drink
In the kitchen at Kallas SkärGård, we combine our own raw ingredients with flavours from a bit farther away. Freshly-caught fish from the waters of Vårdö, fruit and vegetables which are grown on the farm next door at Sven & Lottas Grönsaker, wild berries and mushrooms from the forest, delicious seafood, meat of the highest quality and the harvest from our own garden.
In summer, we like to move the kitchen outdoors and fire up the grill to serve everything from tender meat to fresh grilled fish.
The wines on our wine list are carefully selected and Åland’s largest brewery, Stallhagen, delivers the finest hand-crafted beers for all palates. We even have a liquor licence, so you can have a good drink or coffee with a liqueur.

Getting here
Kallas SkärGård is located on Sandö in Vårdö, a part of Åland’s eastern archipelago. You can reach Vårdö with a cable ferry from Åland’s main island and by archipelago ferry from the rest of the archipelago and from Finland.
If you come with your own boat, there is a fishing dock at Båthusudden where you can dock your boat. From there, it is a few hundred metres to walk to get to Kallas SkärGård.

Our garden
From the first spring flowers and the lush greenery of summer, to the colourful splendour of autumn and the quiet, frosty winter rest – there’s always something to look at in our beautiful garden. Enjoy a coffee under our blooming fruit trees, take a seat and have a glass of wine in our greenhouse, or eat dinner beside our water lily pond under the sky.
Parties, groups and events
Födelsedagsfest, släktmiddag, bröllop eller jubileum – vi har byggt om gårdens ladugård och fårhus till en vacker festlokal med välutrustat kök. Vi har plats för både stora och små sällskap, inne i ladugården ryms max 35 personer, i lusthuset finns plats för fem och i vårt vackra orangeri kan upp till 12 personer sitta.
Vi har även Ålands största uteservering – en hektar frodig trädgård med sittplats i både sol och skugga, under himlen och under tak.
Birthday parties, family dinners, weddings or anniversaries – we have rebuilt the barn and sheep house into a beautiful party venue with a well-equipped kitchen. We have space for both large and small gatherings. The barn can host up to 35 guests, the gazebo has space for five and our beautiful conservatory seats up to 12 people.
We even have Åland’s biggest outdoor dining area – a hectare of lush garden with seating available in sun or shade, under the sky or under a roof.
We arrange everything from simple meals, coffee gatherings and buffets, to gala dinners and parties. When the spirit moves us, we even hold our own events. Follow us on Facebook to learn more about what we are offering right now.

At Kalla’s, solar panels are responsible for the production of 30-40 per cent of our energy consumption.

Timo Vetriö – ägare och hustomte på Kallas, till vardags vd på Ålands största bryggeri Stallhagen. Har arbetat med fisk och skaldjur på leverantörssidan och känner därför sina råvaror väl. Timo har även skolat finska kocklandslaget i fiskkunskap.
